To connect Amalgam with Shopify, your Shopify account sill need certain permissions, which will need to be granted by the store owner or admin. If you try to connect Amalgam to your Shopify store without the correct access levels, you’ll likely get an error message.
Shopify’s User Permissions Guide contains a list of all permissions available to a user. The only permission you specifically need is Manage and Install Apps and Channels.
How to Update Shopify Permissions
To modify user permissions in Shopify, follow these steps:
- Access Users and Permissions:
- Log in to your Shopify admin panel.
- Click on Settings in the bottom-left corner.
- Select Users and Permissions.
- Select the User:
- In the Users and Permissions section, locate and click on the name of the staff member whose permissions you want to adjust.
- Edit Permissions:
- In the Permissions section, check or uncheck the boxes corresponding to the areas you want the user to have access to. For example, to grant access to specific sales channels:
- Scroll to the Apps and Channels permissions.
- Select the desired sales channels to grant access.
